In our previous posts Does God Exist? and More on God we discussed how believing in God can help some people and how the Church of Integrity embraces both those that believe in him and those that don't. This post will clarify that statement.
When children get scared then it comforts them to have a teddy bear or something of that sort. Adults can also get scared because life is not easy. Adults don't have teddy bears though so instead they seek comfort in an imaginary friend called God. It is indeed a personal god that is generally supposed to be the image of all which is good in this world. We at the Church of Integrity believe that this is something natural and all attempts to somehow outlaw God will be bound to fail.
Instead of viewing this believe in God as being a bad thing then we cant to emphasize the good that comes out of believing in God, given certain conditions. The most important condition is that people must understand that they alone are responsible for their actions. It's no good saying that God told you to do something or you read some book that God supposedly wrote. Unconditional belief is bad in our opinion so it's important that you question the world and make your own decisions.
Another condition is that we believe that when we are having problems or when life seems hard then we should try to talk to other people before falling back on God. It's amazing how people all over the world are experiencing similar problems in life. Talking to someone else and relating with other peoples problems can help tremendously. Vice versa then if you know that someone is having problems then chat with them and try to help them get back to the straight path.
The last condition is that you should not promote your God to other people. Of course you can discuss God and how it helps thinking about him and such but keep in mind that this God is your personal God, he's unique to you and the God that other people have might not be similar to yours.
The most important lesson about God in the Church of Integrity is that we should try to live without God because we alone are responsible for making our decisions. Having a God figure can cloud our judgment. However it is completely natural to fall back on a God idea when things are not going well, just try first to get help from fellow church members or any humans for that matter.

Did you eer get a respose from Technorati or learn anything about Blogrolling and ranking. I saw your question and I have the same question. If so drop me a line at faultlineusa(at)yahoo(dot)com.
It is heart-warming to see you return, dear sir!
Hi COI :)
Guess who found their way onto my blogroll list that I'm compiling right now? ;)
Take care...
You're expressing some very interesting opinions. I guess some good may come from believing in God, but I think it would be much better if people let go and decided to only believe where the evidence and logic lead. Then again, belief in god tends to foster fundamentalism, which I think can bring a culture to its knees. Nice blog though! Be sure and check out mine, I debunk creationism/design:

Interesting ideas. I would add a couple more conditions:
1) To be willing to change your evaluate and change your belief at any time.
2) Not to hold any sense of superiority over other people for believing in God.
Also, I think it is important to distinguish between believing in God because it is a useful way of thinking, and believing in God because you actually believe God exists.
Cheers,
CJ

"Build your house on a solid foundation." Hmm
The Mithras cult dates back to aprox 1400 B.C. The Mithras basic belief system was folded into most of the religions from Egypt to Mesopotamia. See if you recognize some: The legend of the Shepherds & their gifts and adoration's; the flood; the ark; their art of the fiery chariot; use of bells & candles in worship; holy water and the communion; the sanctification of Sunday for the Sun (Son) God and the 25 of December as his birth; emphasis placed on abstinence and moral conduct; the doctrine of heaven & hell; primitive revelation; atoning sacrifice; constant warfare between good and evil with final triumph over evil; immortality of the soul; the Final Judgment; the resurrection of the flesh. Christianity happend to be the most successful in their quest to subjugate the masses, all cults did it to some extent or another. The Ebonits (Jesus' own family) were ran out of Israel by the Pope for heavens sake! lol The new religion of Rome (Christianity) co-oped the Mithraic rites and beliefs to ease the push-back and grow conversion rates for obvious reasons....By the way I do subscribe to several of those beliefs above.
